Obituary of Wesley Warren Hesketh
Wesley W. Hesketh, 79, of Gresham, passed away on August 21, 2021. Wes was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Millard and Lillian (McDaniel) Hesketh, June 17, 1942, the second of four siblings. He was raised on the family farm in Pennsylvania until they moved to the Bay area of California where he went to school. After high school he joined the military and served in both the U.S. Army and Coast Guard.
Professionally, Wesley held a long career in the automotive industry as a master mechanic and diagnostician. He took great pride in the work he provided to the community. Following an industrial injury, he returned to college earning his Associate of Applied Science degree from Portland Community College and became a drug and alcohol counselor.
In his retirement years, Wes wrote books of poetry, sang music, and played guitar, keyboards, and harmonica. He will be remembered for his love of music, paintings, travel, poetry, and dancing. His spirit of unconditional love, which he shared with everyone, touched many lives and will stay in our hearts forever.
Wes was preceded in death by his step-father and mother, Al and Lillian; his father, Harrison; sister, Patsy and nephew, Charles II. He is survived by his daughter, Tina “Neato Burrito” (Shane) and their children, Aaryanna, Justus and Hunter; life partner, Rosalyn; siblings, Jeanne “Sis,” and brother, Harrison Roy; nephews, Richard, Norma, Michael, and Jerry, and nieces Sarah, Gina, and Calmarie; and grand-nephew Charles III. He will be deeply missed. Viewing will be held at Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes on Monday, September 6th at 11:00 a.m. followed at 12:00 noon by a Celebration of Life.
