Obituary of Gracye Maxine Law
Grayce Maxine Law passed away peacefully, surrounded by love in Milwaukie on October 6, 2018, at the age of 91. She was born on May 12, 1927, in Gordon, Nebraska. Mom always preferred to use her middle name of Maxine or Max. Maxine lived in Wyoming and South Dakota during her young years. At 17 she was married to Marvin Law in Wheatland, Wyoming. Maxine soon welcomed her 4 children Dixie, Russell, William and Amy. Maxine went back to work in the 1970’s and worked for and retired from US West Direct (Yellow Pages). Maxine loved the Oregon high desert and enjoyed most of her retirement years living in a cabin she and Marvin built together on the rim rock above the Deschutes River in Redmond. She was very involved with the Redmond Senior Center, camping and exploring the outdoors with friends and working on her family genealogy. She returned to Milwaukie in 2006 to live close to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Maxine is survived by her husband Marvin--they were married for almost 73 years at the time of her passing. Also surviving her is son Rusty (Sheryl), son Bill (Terry) and daughter Amy Hollis (Brian), grandchildren Kimberlee Dubois, Don Law, Travis Law, Amanda Hollis and Jillian Hollis, great grandchildren Henry Dubois, Claire Dubois, Mason Law, Logan Law, Reece Law, Avery Law, Allie Law and Juniper Gustafson. We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Comfort Hospice and especially Violet and Mary at Golden Age Living who cared so lovingly for Maxine. They truly were a blessing. There will be no service. Interment at Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes Rose Garden where she rests with her beloved daughter Dixie.
