5 Alarm Chili Cook Off

Sunnyside Little Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home invites you to a 5 Alarm Chili Cook Off on Saturday, September 8th! This fundraiser event will benefit the following:

  • The Oregon Volunteer Firefighters Association (OVFA)
  • The Oregon Fallen Badge Association
  • The Oregon National Guard Emergency Relief Fund

Teams of 4 can come compete and give it their all to create the Best Chili in all of Oregon! We will have a panel of judges representing our local public servants, military, and our staff that will give their thumbs up to the best.

Check-in & set up: 12 PM
Opening Ceremony: 3:30 PM
Cook off: 4 PM

Chili Cook Off Rules

Team registration is open August 1st - September 6th. Registration is required and we will need the following information: team name, team captain, team captain address/phone/email, names of team members, and charity (from the list above) that you're cooking for. Upon registration, the team captain will receive a welcome email with the cook off packing list, the event rules, and directions.

1st place will be a $500 donation to their respective Charity along with the Golden Ladle Award and bragging rights! 2nd place is a $300 donation and 3rd place is a $200 Donation. There will also be a prize for the team that raises the most for their respective charity.

We will recognize all teams on our website and facebook as well as recognize how much they raise at the event for their respective charity.

Teams will offer samples of their Award Winning Chili for donations at their cook sites. There will also be a Beer and Beverage Garden hosted by our caterer where donations will be accepted. Everyone is encouraged to attended to root on their favorite team!
